Dupree said that she is excited to carry on the traditions that have been established at Mariana, and to bring in new programs including a school-wide AVID program. “(AVID) will be an exciting addition; making sure our kids have the organizational skills they need in order to be successful in high school and college and to be prepared for their future.”
“I’m really excited to build relationships with the families,” Dupree said. “That’s one of the things I like about going into administration. When you’re teaching elementary your class becomes your family for that year, but then you have to send them on. Being in administration, I can make relationships with the families and follow through with them their entire time here at Mariana.”
Dupree has fifteen years of educational experience, and has served with Apple Valley Unified, Hesperia Unified, and Victor Valley Union High School Districts. She began her career with HUSD, before transitioning to AVUSD in 2006. Dupree taught at both Sandia Academy and Rio Vista School of Applied Learning, before accepting an Assistant Principal position with VVUHSD. Dupree returned to Apple Valley in 2015 as Mariana’s Site Student Program and Assessment Coordinator.
Dupree received a Bachelors Degree and Teaching Credential from California State University Fullerton, and Masters Degrees in both Teaching and Administration from Azusa Pacific University.
In her free time, Dupree enjoys to go camping and off-roading with her family.
