On Nov. 18, High Desert Premier Academy's Parent Advisory Council and Associated Student Body hosted its second annual College and Career Fair. The purpose of the event was to help students explore various colleges and careers, and to learn how they could prepare for a successful transition from high school into their future.
"At High Desert Premier, our number one goal is to prepare all of our students, from kindergarten through 12th grade, to be college and career ready,” Kim Brock, HDPA principal, said. “We know early exposure to post secondary opportunities can greatly impact a student's future decision making process and we are excited to hold this event for our students."
In addition to speaking with representatives from a variety of colleges and career fields, students had the opportunity to participate in mock interviews and were encouraged to bring their resume and dress professionally.
Participants included the San Bernardino County First District Supervisor’s Office, Victorville
Motors, Desert Alfa Romeo FIAT, and Wells Fargo Bank, as well as multiple
colleges and certified technical education programs.
