On Nov. 16, Granite Hills High School distributed 200 bags of groceries at the school’s second annual “Harvest of Giving”. Families and community members who attended received two bags of food items, hygiene kits, and books while supplies lasted. They also had the opportunity to participate in activities such as games and face painting.

Students create an assembly line to effectively assemble bags.
Previously, the GHHS Family Center provided turkeys and meals to 20 families each Thanksgiving. The Harvest of Giving first came to Granite Hills last year as an effort to serve even more families in the community.

The event was sponsored by VALEW Quality, Leslie and Roger Hayes, and the GHHS PTSO, in partnership with the GHHS Family Center. The event received support from the GHHS Cougar Tutors, Interact Club, AVID, Key Club, Latino Pride, and HOSA programs,  as well as the Sandia Academy Family Center, Rancho Verde Elementary School PTO, Vanguard Preparatory School PTO, Holiday Inn, and Town and County Tire and Service Center.
