The Apple Valley Police Activities League is now accepting applications for the next 10-week SHOCK Program!

The SHOCK Program is a juvenile intervention program for youth between the ages of 12 and 17. It was designed to combat the negative influences facing today's youth in society. It is open to residents of Apple Valley and/or students of the Apple Valley Unified School District. It is held at Phoenix Academy every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4-7 p.m.

Along with every student attending the 10-week course, parent/guardian must attend “Parent Project”.  Parent Project is not designed to tell you how to parent; rather, it gives additional proven tools to foster a better long-term relationship between you and the child through positive affirmation and principles taught to the children in S.H.O.C.K.

There is a mandatory orientation on January, 30th , 2017 at 6:00pm at the Phoenix Academy that each student and parent/guardian must attend. The next session begins on February 6 , 2017.  Applications may be found online at AVPAL.ORG – complete and turn in A.S.A.P.! Please return COMPLETED applications to the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station (14931 Dale Evans Parkway, next to the library) or your child’s school.
