Pat Schlosser, Assistant Superintendant, Educational Services; Kristin Dupree, Principal at Mariana; Pearl Heft, Classroom Aide at Mariana; Tom Hoegerman, Superintendent; Marcos Clark, Program and Assessment Coordinator at Mariana.

Pearl Heft, a classroom aide at Mariana Academy, returned to work today after spending the last few days working in the fire zone and helping to assist families affected by the Blue Cut Fire.
Heft is a member of the San Bernardino County Search and Rescue and was called to action on Tuesday, as the fire erupted in the Cajon Pass.

Today, she was recognized by Principal Kristin Dupree and Superintendent Tom Hoegerman for her commitment to making a difference for the community. "We have our  own special 'hero' here at Mariana Academy," Principal Kristin Dupree said. "I would like to show 'Mariana Pride' by saying thank you for her dedication and self sacrifice."

Our thoughts remain with those affected by this tragedy, as well as our first responders who are working so hard to serve our community.
