 The Apple Valley Unified School District is one of the highest achieving districts in the High Desert, serving over 13,500 students ranging from pre-school through twelfth grade. The district has ten elementary schools, two comprehensive high schools, and one K-12 independent study/hybrid/online course school. Student achievement and school safety are the primary goals of AVUSD. The schools in the District have continued to show growth in student achievement each year. The District API for student achievement is 770. The District also has its own Police Department focused on student and campus safety.
The District serves an area of 205 square miles with an elevation
ranging 2800 to 4000 feet.
The District employs over 1100 people in the certificated and classified services.
