Welcome to our AVUSD AVID Program!
AVID is our college preparatory support elective. Students may enroll in a pre-AVID elective in 6th grade, and in a full AVID course sequence from grades 7-12. AVID is offered at all 4 of our middle schools, and at both Apple Valley HS and Granite Hills HS.
Students in AVID work to earn good grades and complete the University of California's "A through G" sequence of high school college preparatory courses. Students benefit from career exposure, guest speakers, and a curriculum that emphasizes writing skills, organizational skills, and study skills; the senior AVID curriculum focuses on college applications and financial assistance. Virtually all senior AVID students are accepted to four-year universities.
